Being Raven
A dummy book created in 2019 for Being Raven, a 32 page children's book written by Ellorie J. Davis, author of Kaylee's Bucket List (see below). The story is about a child who is uncertain of their place in a gendered world, and eventually comes to learn about and teach others about being nonbinary.
I began by creating thumbnails of each spread and laying out the text. Once these elements were solidified and approved, I began sketching out pages the author could post as previews for their fundraiser. We prioritized one spread for full-color. Unfortunately, Being Raven is on hold indefinitely. The project stands at 20 thumbnailed, 9 sketched, and 2 full-color pages.
Kaylee's Bucket List
Finalized work for Kaylee's Bucket List, a children's book written by Ellorie Joyce, illustrated and formatted by myself in 2018. The story is about a senior pup named Kaylee, who spends the last months of her life having as much fun with her family as possible. The book was independently published with hardback and paper copies within ten months of my starting the project.
During the fundraising process, patrons of Kaylee's Bucket List could buy a slot to have their pet featured in the book.
Over 60 pets had their headshots featured on the inside covers.
